Telfar Fashion Show at BLADE Lounge East

As part of New York Fashion Week, BLADE collaborated with designer and CFDA CVFF winner Telfar to stage his fashion show at the BLADE Lounge East.

Telfar chose BLADE Lounge East as the location of his Spring Summer 2019 fashion show because of the iconic photo of Biggie Smalls and his crew boarding a helicopter (below), with Queens in the background, Telfar's home town.

The Telfar collection remixed Americana, with denim, stripes & stars, logo belts, and cut-outs.

The models represented a diverse group of celebrities, models, and the designer's friend, including Selah Marley, Indya Moore, & Moses Sumney.

Instead of the traditional fashion show, Telfar flipped the concept of a runway on its head by staging the show directly on the East 34th Street helipad. Musicians, models, and artists collaborated to put on a sensory performance.

Celebrities like Alice Eve and Paloma Elsesser, as well as a host of fashion editors from Vogue, The New York Times, and Women's Wear Daily descended upon the BLADE Lounge East for the show.

As New York Fashion Week came to a close, the Telfar SS19 show was heralded as one the most exciting and profound presentations during NYFW. Each editor at every major publication lauded the show for its outdoor helipad location, dynamic musical experience, swanky backstage VIP lounge, and provocative collection.
